MouseFest

It been awhile since I have posted but I have been real busy with attending Mousefest and with the holidays.  I am also running into issues with some of my photos at Photrade.   Photrade is running into difficulty financially so I am looking into other venues to post my pictures.  In the mean time here is a quick photo from my recent trip to Mousefest.   This is one of several bikes located in Animal Kingdom.  I will have some write ups on Mousefest so stay tuned for more on that trip.

Mulch, Sweat n' Shears

When you are at Disney's Hollywood Studios, be sure to find out when the band Mulch, Sweat n' Shears will be performing.  They perform a great show and certainly know how to Rake N' Roll!  I hope Disney continues to bring such live entertainment to its guests in the future.

Here is another photo from the Le Pays de Conte de Fees (The Land of Fairy Tale) attraction in Disneyland Paris.  This is a photo of the Emerald City of course from the movie The Wizard of Oz.

I'm Late

Like the White Rabbit I'm late!  I meant to post this before it was time to change the clocks back an hour.  This was taken on our trip to Disneyland Paris at a very neat little attraction in Fantasyland called Alice's Labyrinth.  It is a walk through maze that takes you through the story of Alice In Wonderland and is something not to be missed.  We especially enjoyed it since my wife directed a school production of Disney's Alice In Wonderland Jr. at our kids' school last year.  I really enjoyed Fantasyland at DLRP and will be posting more photos in the future.

The Real Matterhorn

The Matterhorn bobsled ride in Disneyland was the first steel tube rail coaster ride developed. You may not think of the Matterhorn ride as a real mountain, but the Sierra club did.  They decided after the mountain was built to try and climb  it and they did.  Walt Disney had them scale the mountain again for the grand opening.  Climbers were hired after this by Disney to perform the feat repeatedly for the enjoyment of the guests.

Keeper of the Keys

Cicely Rigdon is a Disney Legend and became know as the "Keeper of the Keys" due to her responsibility at one point in her career for managing Walt Disney's apartment above the Main Street Fire Station in Disneyland.  The instructor label in part refers to her responsibilities to train ticket sellers and receptionists at Disneyland and Walt Disney World.  Read her Legends bio for more facts.

Peak Interests

Much has been written about the Mountains of Disney, in fact there is an excellent book by Jason Surrell that discusses the Disney Mountains and the work performed by the Imagineers. I took this photo of a concept drawing that was posted outside of the construction site for Expedition Everest-Legend of the Forbidden Mountain on a trip with my family to Animal Kingdom in May of 2005.  I appreciated the fact that Disney posted this at the construction site so that one could try to visualize what the final ride would like.  I remember at the time thinking to myself what type of queue Disney would come up with to tell the story that this type of attraction deserves.  Boy did they hit a home run with the Queue!

Little Town

Here is a photo from Disneyland Paris I took on a recent trip.  It is in the Le Pays de Contes de Fees  (The Land of Fairy Tale) attraction, also known as Storybook Land.  In this photo Belle is sitting quietly in her "Little Town" reading or maybe even singing.  I wonder how she manages to get the town square to herself?

Welcome to Magical Prints

Hello and welcome to the Magical Prints blog.  My goal with the blog is to provide a snapshot from the Disney Parks and Resorts via my photography and perhaps provide a little background on what I see in the photo.

I am also posting some of my photos at Photrade so you can view some of my Disney related photos there as well.
